A magnitude 6.1 earthquake hit 285 kilometers southeast off Saranggani Island in Davao Occidental on Sunday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) mentioned.
The tectonic quake was recorded at 7:48 a.m. It had a depth of 156 kilometers.
Depth 2 was reported in Cateel, Davao Oriental.
Phivolcs mentioned no harm was anticipated however there can be aftershocks.
